Put your practice into motion.
Join Quick Play for a race at your pace, or choose Solo Practice to pick a passage and settle into your rhythm. Switch between 3D and 2D in the game. Your saved runs and results help you follow your progress in this browser.
Type the highlighted word correctly, then press Space to move on. Use Backspace to fix a mistake. The final word finishes the passage without an extra space.
Choose the experience you want today
TypeDash is built around reaching the finish: type a passage, move your runner, and race again. Monkeytype puts the test itself at the center, with extensive configuration, personal records and detailed results.
| What matters to you | TypeDash | Monkeytype |
|---|---|---|
| Main experience | Passage-to-finish racing with rooftop runners. | Minimal, highly configurable typing tests. |
| Practice goal | Finish the passage, improve the run, or challenge a friend. | Customize a test and work on speed, consistency and personal records. |

| Results | WPM, accuracy, race time, saved runs and replay analysis in this browser. | Detailed test results and account-based result history. |
What about Monkeytype multiplayer?
Monkeytype’s official Tribe development surface includes matchmaking and custom rooms. It also carries a development warning and uses separate test accounts. We don’t claim Monkeytype has no multiplayer.
TypeDash’s distinction is its rooftop-runner race, private rooms and asynchronous recorded challenges. Pick the game feel you prefer.
Keep Monkeytype for the tests you love
If you want a tightly configured timed test, a minimal practice screen or extensive typing-test history, Monkeytype may fit better. TypeDash’s passage races are not a replacement for every benchmark, and WPM from different test rules is not automatically comparable.
TypeDash is worth trying when you want to race other players or send a completed run to a friend. No account signup is required; your saved runs currently belong to this browser’s game identity.
